Association Bye-Laws
A) Non day ticket waters are only open to Association members who are in possession of a current membership book and this must be produced on demand by any authorised Bailiff of by any person producing their own membership book. No person will be allowed to fish who is unable to prove their current membership of the Association. Any member is empowered to challenge any person(s) on the Poppy Hill complex who they believe not to be a member of the Association. Any person(s) unable to prove membership of LGCAA shall be deemed to be trespassing and will be asked to leave the property.
B) Under no circumstances must damage be done to any adjoining crops, trees, fences, hedges or the waters. All gates must be closed and locked after use.
C) All boats, rafts and other floating devices are strictly prohibited on LGCAA waters, except at organised work parties.
D) Camping is not allowed on Association waters, except Brollys/Bivvies and then only for a limited period of 72 hours continuously in a 7 day period.
E) Brollys/Bivvies must be erected within 1 meter of the rod butts and clear of paths.
F) No fish may be removed from the association waters for any purpose except at the discretion of the FMC/GPC.
- All fish to be returned alive to the water.
- Fish deaths must be reported to LGCAA
- No fish should be taken away alive or dead without the permission of LGCAA, to do so may give rise to a civil or criminal prosecution under schedule1 section2 of the theft act.
G) The use of keepnets in the Third lake is limited and all fish must be returned to the water immediately.
H) Live baiting is allowed on Association waters. The max overall length of the live bait should be 6” (15cm). All live bait must be taken from the water being fished. No fish may be transferred from another water or from lake to lake.
I) The Association operates a closed season on the Poppy Hill complex from 1st April to 15th June inclusive. No angler or his fishing tackle may occupy a swim before 6pm on 15th June. Members who have completed 18 hours of work on official work parties throughout the year prior to start of the new season will be allowed to fish from midnight on the 31st `May. This applies to all members alike and is at the discretion of the GPC. Bailiffs, GPC and FMC members are exempt. Pre-baiting is only allowed before 16th June with GPC permission.
J) Parking at Poppy Hill is restricted to the designated car park. No vehicles may proceed beyond the car park, nor may them park at the entrance to the car park. Vehicular access from Langford at the Boot PH is forbidden.
K) No member may have more than 2 rods in use at any one time and these must be positioned within 1 meter of each other. Nor may them leave tackle unattended. Three rods can be used at the Blue Lagoon, Felmersham, Ely, Cam and the Counterwash from 1st October to 14th March inclusive.
L) All audio/visual appliances (excluding electronic bite alarms) are barred from Association waters.
M) Dogs are banned from the Poppy Hill complex.
N) This Bye-Law applies to the Canal Lake and Jubilee Lake only.
The following items are not allowed:
- Barbed hooks
- Boilies
- Electronic bite alarms
- Brolly/Bivvie camps
- Night fishing (dusk to dawn)
- More than one rod.
O) No hook bait or groundbait may be dug or searched for in or on the banks or property adjoining any of the waters used by the Association.
P) All anglers fishing with the specific aim of catching specimen fish must be in possession of an unhooking mat and suitably sized keepnet and landing net.
Q) No member is allowed to be in possession of alcohol or drugs or be adjudged to be under the influence of drink or drugs whilst on Association property. If in contravention of this rule offenders will be escorted off the property.
R) Trout pellets, in all forms are banned from the Poppy Hill complex.
S) Junior members are not allowed to night fish the Poppy Hill complex unless accompanied by an adult and fishing the same or adjacent swims.
T) Members must not light fires on any Association waters.
U) The Association reserves the right to suspend angling activities for any reason that in their opinion may be injurious to the fish, fishing or members.
V) Brolly and Bivvie shelters are not to be used in the following swims on Lake 1 :
1, 2, 3, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32. (Rule 19 applies)
W) Single hook rigs only with the exception of Pike fishing.
Any angler in breach of Association rules or bye-laws will be subject to an endorsement. The General Purposes Committee will be made aware of any offence, which could result in expulsion. The Bailiff is empowered to confiscate the offending members book which will only be returned after a period of time to be determined by the GPC. During this period the member is banned from all Association waters.
